1994

Company Founded

CenterWatch was established to provide clinical trial information to a broad audience, including professionals and patients. The Clinical Trials Listing Service, one of its first products, helped participants find and volunteer for studies.

1994

First Newsletter Published

Shortly after the launch of the company, the first edition of CenterWatch Monthly was published. It provided analysis and proprietary data on the industry, featured in-depth stories, industry reports, drug pipeline news, and lists of clinical study opportunities for researchers.

1997

The Site Relationship Survey Launched

The first CenterWatch Global Site Relationship Survey was conducted to measure the quality of relationships between clinical trial sponsors, CROs, and their investigational sites.

1998

CenterWatch Weekly Published

The first edition of the free CenterWatch Weekly was published. The publication reported on business and financial news within the clinical trials industry, including analysis of market trends and interviews with executives. 

2002

The CRA Guide Makes Its Debut

The CRA’s Guide to Monitoring Clinical Research is released, providing guidance on the role of CRAs in overseeing clinical trials to ensure they are conducted safely and effectively. The guide covers topics like trial monitoring, adherence to regulations, and interaction with sites and sponsors to guarantee the integrity and quality of the research data.  

2004

The First CRC Guide Is Published

The CRC’s Guide to Coordinating Clinical Research is a training and professional resource for clinical research coordinators (CRCs). It provides detailed information on the responsibilities of a CRC, covers topics like Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations, IRB requirements, and participant consent, and includes tools such as checklists and case studies to help with job performance.  

2009

CenterWatch Honored

CenterWatch received its fifth consecutive eHealthcare Leadership Award at the 10th Annual Healthcare Internet Conference. Presented by eHealthcare Strategy and Trends, CenterWatch was awarded silver for Best Health/Healthcare Content. 

2016

CenterWatch Technology Survey Published

The CenterWatch Site Experiences with Technology Solutions Supplied by Sponsors/CROs benchmark survey was published. The survey evaluated the quality, key challenges, and opportunities of various technologies used by investigative sites to improve them and better meet the needs of sites.

In June 2016, WCG acquired CenterWatch, the industry’s most trusted source of information regarding the management and conduct of clinical trials.

CenterWatch Weekly Subscribers

In 2021, CenterWatch Weekly exceeded 230,000 subscribers.

WCG CenterWatch Pinnacle Awards

WCG CenterWatch announces the winners of the first-ever prestigious WCG Pinnacle Award. The awards recognize clinical trial sponsors and CROs for their performance and partnerships with investigational sites. These awards are based on data from the annual WCG CenterWatch Global Site Relationship Survey.
