Founded by Dr. Stephen K. Tyring and Dr. Patricia Lee, Center for Clinical Studies (CCS) is a full-time private outpatient research facility with two locations in the Houston, Texas area.  Dr. Tyring and Dr. Lee are Principle Investigators and each have more than 25 years’ experience in conducting clinical trials.  With over 50 years of combined experience, Dr. Tyring, Dr. Lee, our Research Fellows and staff, have specifically set new trends in medicine and changed the way all physicians treat various diseases.  Our knowledgeable and experienced full-time staff strive to provide outstanding patient care and are dedicated to making a difference in people's lives through quality clinical research.  


CCS conducts Phase I - IV clinical trials for the Pharmaceutical industry and Government, as well as Investigator initiated studies. We are committed to providing accurate and detailed research in a timely and professional manner.

Stephen K. Tyring, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A. is a board-certified Dermatologist and Virologist whose research interests include the therapy of various mucocutaneous diseases; especially those disorders with an infectious and/or immunological basis.  He is an expert on herpes viruses, particularly Shingles, the herpes zoster virus.  Dr. Tyring has pursued these fields for more than 30 years and has successfully completed more than 300 clinical trials.  He is an invited speaker at world-wide medical and public health conferences, the author of over 700 journal articles and book chapters, as well as nine books. 

In addition to his roles as Medical Director and Principle Investigator at Center for Clinical Studies, Dr. Tyring has the following current appointments:

Our team is comprised of full-time Research Coordinators (averaging 6 years experience), Clinical Research Investigators (averaging 25 years experience), Fellows, Research Assistants, Administrative, Regulatory, Recruitment and Laboratory personnel with years of experience conducting clinical trials in a variety of therapeutic areas. Site managers ensure excellence at both our sites.
