Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) participates in clinical studies and affiliates with national research organizations to deliver clinical trials to our local community. Our affiliations allow access to National Cancer Institute sponsored clinical trials. Patients have access to research that addresses many aspects of cancer care, including new forms of treatment, methods of prevention, ways of screening for cancer, and ways to improve comfort and quality of life for cancer patients. Jupiter Medical Center also participates in trials addressing general medicine, surgical outcomes and biosciences. This included women's health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, cardiovascular, sleep disturbance and diabetes type trials.

Mission: The Clinical Research Department (CRD) at JMC collaborates with leading research organizations and physicians to deliver and manage clinical trials for the JMC community. The CRD is committed to supporting the research community in the conduct of ethical clinical research and human subject protection in compliance with law. The CRD provides consultation on questions related to regulations and standards of practice governing human research. The CRD provides education and training; develops policy and processes; and leads quality improvement efforts in areas of clinical trial management. Our goal is to create an interdisciplinary collaborative environment among researchers, physicians and our community.

Jupiter Medical Center Research began in 2002. Our Research Team provides the experience to complete studies on time and in a detail oriented manner. SOPs are updated annually and as needed. We have successfully completed numerous regulatory audits from the FDA, NCI, and sponsors. Jupiter Medical Center has a local Institutional Review Board (IRB) designated to review and monitor biomedical research involving human subjects. In accordance with FDA regulations, Jupiter Medical Center’s IRB has the authority to approve, require modifications in (to secure approval), or disapprove research. The purpose of IRB review is to assure, both in advance and by periodic review, that appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and welfare of those participating as subjects in research offered by Jupiter Medical Center and its medical staff. All research must be acknowledged and or approved by the Jupiter Medical Center Institutional Review Board. Our board has worked with numerous sponsors and offers a quick response in protocol approvals , amendments and continuing review. Budget, contracts and study start up is timely at site.
