Overview

Palmetto Institute of Clinical Research, Inc., (PICR) wasfounded to fulfill a need of managing and maintaining clinicaltrials of another SMO. The clinical trials inherited have beenongoing since 2003. Currently PICR continues these trials and havenow dedicated resources to conduct new clinical trials since2007.

The mission of Palmetto Institute of Clinical Research, Inc.isto facilitate the process of clinical research while promoting itsintegrity, value and contribution to science and medicine. PICRconducts clinical research in Upstate South Carolina offeringresearch-related resources for volunteers, sponsors, investigatorsand research staff.

At Palmetto Insititute of Clinical Research, Inc. superiorpatient care is given through clinical trials.

Palmetto Institute of Clinical Research, Inc. is located inPelzer, South Carolina, Anderson County. PICR is housed within aprivate solo-practice setting, allowing direct access to an 8,000patient database with various ethnicities and age groups from pedsto geriatrics.

Investigator

Dr. Daniel A. Koontz is the PrimaryInvestigator. He has worked on clinical trails as the PI in heareas of diabetes, hypertension, COPD and pain. He is boardcertified in Family Practice and a member of the American Academyof Family Practice. Dr. Koontz is a graduate of University of NorthCarolina, Medical University of South Carolina and completed hisinternship and residency at Anderson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Koontzhas been in a solo practice for 23 years in Pelzer, SouthCarolina.
