Oculus Research is a clinical research company that specializes in ophthalmic research and is focused on the well-being of our patients. We were founded in 2012 and are based in Raleigh, North Carolina. We conduct research studies that include all ages.
We specialize in ophthalmic research studies, including glaucoma/ocular hypertension, adenoviral and bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye), myopia control, presbyopia, and devices such as contact lenses.
We are located at Eyecare Center in Garner North Carolina just south of downtown Raleigh. We are near several major highways and interstate 40, making travel to the office from anywhere in the triangle convenient.
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Carol Aune, OD is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University of Houston College of Optometry. As a practicing optometrist sees patients at EyeCareCenter. She is also the Director of Research and a Principal Investigator at Oculus Research which is located at EyeCareCenter. Her years of experience writing prescriptions, diagnosing and treating eye disease as well fitting specialty contact lenses have given her a great deal of knowledge expertise in optometry. Additionally, she has both experience and training in clinical research including current GCP. She receives ongoing training in optometry and clinical research to ensure that she is up to date with the latest research, technology, practices, and techniques.
In addition to our Principal Investigator, many of our studies include one of our Sub-Investigators. With varying backgrounds and specialties including retina, cornea/cataract, and primary care, our Sub-Investigators are a great addition to our research team.
Our highly qualified study team has extensive experience in clinical research with exemplary community reputation.
Oculus Research is located at Eyecare Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. This partnership increases our access to willing and qualified volunteers. Our research population includes rural, urban and suburban patients ranging from infants to the elderly. The greater Raleigh area also offers a diverse ethnic population. We recognize the success of every clinical trial hinges on the success of the recruiting strategies for identifying qualified and compliant patients. We have access to thousands of patient records allowing rapid retrieval of patient data based on diagnosis. Our referral network includes optometrist and ophthalmologists, as well as sub- investigators who refer qualified patients.
