AVREF partners with the Phoenix VA Health Care System to deliver clinical research to more than 120,000 military veterans. Our mission is to conduct research that benefits our nation’s military veterans.
Our 50 scientists and investigators have been conducting lab, animal, data and human subject research for 23 years. They research many types of disease states and therapeutic approaches. We support scientific development at all stages, from idea to data to patient. We have active laboratory, chart and clinical studies and have carried out clinical trials through all four phases. Our most common areas of research include:
- Hepatology (Liver, Pancreatic, Gall Bladder)
- Infections and Infectious Diseases
- Internal Medicine
- Nutrition and Weight Loss
- Pulmonary/Respiratory Diseases
Hospital, lab and research facilities.
More than 50 clinical research coordinators, nurses, research assistants, laboratory technicians and health scientists work alongside VA physicians, nurses, CRCs and research scientists.
