The NSPKU was formed in 1973 and it exists to help and support people with PKU, their families and carers. It organizes events such as conferences and study days throughout the UK and produces a wide range of publications (including food lists) for parents, adults with PKU and medical professionals. The NSPKU actively promotes the care and treatment of people with PKU and works closely with medical professionals in the UK, Medical Advisory Panel (MAP).
