Sagittal Plane Shear Index for Planning Lumbar Stenosis Surgery

The objective of the clinical investigation is to assess the proportion of lumbar spinal stenosis surgical treatment plans that change when an objective measurement of spinal stability is included and applied following a simple treatment algorithm. The objective spinal stability metric is calculated from flexion-extension radiographs using previously validated methods.

Operative Procedures vs. Endovascular Neurosurgery for Untreated Pseudotumor Trial

Pseudotumor cerebri, also called idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), is characterized by elevated intracranial pressure, headache, and if severe, vision loss. IIH is difficult to treat. Medical management may not adequately resolve the symptoms, and surgical management (primarily through cerebrospinal fluid [CSF] shunting) has a high failure rate. Recently, a relationship …

External Counterpulsation Therapy for Severe Steno-occlusive Intracranial Stenosis

Intracranial stenosis is prevalent among Asians and constitute a common cause of cerebral ischemia. While the best medical therapy carries stroke recurrence rates in access of 10% per year, intracranial stenting was associated with unacceptable peri-procedural ischemic events. Cerebral ischemic events are strongly related to the severity of intracranial stenosis, …

Intensive Medical Therapy for High-risk Intracranial or Extracranial Arterial Stenosis

Large-artery stenosis plays an important role in the occurrence of ischemic stroke. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intensive antiplatelet therapy versus standard antiplatelet therapy and immediate high-intensity statin therapy (80mg atorvastatin) versus delayed high-intensity statin therapy (40mg atorvastatin) and intensive antiplatelet …

A Study Evaluating the Endovascular Treatment of Subjects With Stenotic or Restenotic Lesions of the Common Femoral Artery With the Supera Vascular Mimetic Implant Compared to Surgical Common Femoral Artery Endarterectomy

The SUPERSURG RCT trial investigates the efficacy and safety of the endovascular treatment of stenosis or restenosis in the common femoral artery (CFA) of patients presenting with Rutherford classification 2,3 or 4 with a Supera Vascular Mimetic Implant of Abbott, compared to classic surgical common femoral artery endarterectomy. The Supera …
