Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation From HLA-matched Donor After Flu-Mel-PTCy Versus Flu-Mel-ATG Reduced-intensity Conditioning

The present project aims at comparing two conditioning regimens (FM-PTCy vs FM-ATG). The hypothesis is that one or the two regimens will lead to a 2-year cGRFS rate improvement from 30% (the cGRFS rate with FM without ATG/PTCy) to 45% (Pick-a-winner phase 2 randomized study).

HLA-Mismatched Unrelated Donor Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation With Post-Transplantation Cyclophosphamide

This is a prospective, multi-center, Phase II study of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) using human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-mismatched unrelated donors (MMUD) for peripheral blood stem cell transplant in adults and bone marrow stem cell transplant in children. Post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy), tacrolimus and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) will be used for for …

The Correlation Between the Haplotype of Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) and Human Papillomavirus

Cervical cancer is the most frequent neoplasm of women in Taiwan and in the world. It influences about 2,700 women with about 1,000 women dying of cervical cancer each year and in Taiwan. Human papillomaviruses (HPV) have been consistently implicated in causing cervical cancer especially those high-risk types which have …

Identification of Non-gal Non-HLA Antigens in Patients Implanted With Xenogenic Material

This study involves collecting serum samples from patients presenting for aortic valve replacement at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Serum samples will be collected pre-op, 1, 3 and 12 months post-operatively. The patients antibodies in these serum samples will be used to capture proteins from the same type of tissue their …

Comparison of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Type 16 E7-Specific Immune Response Between a Normal Population and Patients With Cervical Lesions

Cervical cancer is the most frequent neoplasm and the third in mortality rate of the malignancies in women in the world. It results in about 200,000 women dying of cervical cancer each year worldwide. The available forms of treatment - surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy - are all cytoreductive treatment …

Prospective Assessment of Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Patients With Myelofibrosis

This observational study will compare outcomes of a prospectively-enrolled cohort of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HCT) recipients with outcomes of a cohort of age-matched historical non-HCT controls. Patients undergoing alloHCT will receive HCT in a US transplant center and be reported to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant …

HLA Analysis in Autoimmune Encephalitis and Related Disorders: Part II

Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) are characterized by subacute onset of memory deficits, altered mental status or psychiatric symptoms, frequently associated with seizures, inflammatory cerebrospinal fluid and in cases with prominent limbic involvement, typical magnetic resonance imaging. Several autoantibodies (Abs) may be detected in AE, although its detection is not mandatory to …

Can we Rely on HLA to Predict Resistance to Biological Therapy in IBD Patients

The investigators propose an observational study including patients with inflammatory bowel disease under biological therapy with anti-TNF, anti-integrin or anti-interleukin 12-23 (Ustekinumab), followed by an external Gastroenterology consultation at Centro Hospitalar Tondela-Viseu.
