Radiologically Isolated Syndrome

Radiologically Isolated Syndrome (RIS) is a condition where an individual shows MRI lesions suggestive of multiple sclerosis (MS) but does not have any clinical symptoms. RIS is diagnosed incidentally during routine MRI scans done for other reasons. A diagnosis of RIS does not always mean that an individual will develop MS, but it does increase the risk of developing the disease.
