Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis

Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a rare kidney disease that affects the glomeruli, which are tiny blood vessels in the kidneys responsible for filtering waste from the blood. In FSGS, the glomeruli become damaged and scarred, reducing their ability to function properly. This can lead to proteinuria (excessive protein in the urine), edema (swelling), and ultimately, kidney failure.
