In Vitro Fertilization

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a type of assisted reproductive technology (ART) that involves the fertilization of an egg with sperm outside of the body in a laboratory setting. The fertilized egg, or embryo, is then implanted into the uterus of the woman in hopes of achieving pregnancy. IVF may be recommended for couples who have difficulty conceiving naturally or for those who have certain medical conditions that make conception difficult.
