Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a rare and progressive lung disorder where the blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries (the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs) is abnormally high. This causes the heart to work harder than normal to pump blood, which can lead to heart failure. Symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, and fainting spells.
