Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies (IIM) are a group of rare autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation and damage to the muscles. The exact cause of IIM is unknown, hence the name "idiopathic." Symptoms of IIM can include muscle weakness, fatigue, and difficulty with daily activities.
