Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease (PAOD) is a condition in which the arteries that supply blood to the legs and feet become narrow or blocked. This reduces blood flow to the affected area, causing pain, numbness, and cramping. PAOD is most commonly caused by atherosclerosis, a buildup of fatty deposits in the arteries.
