AcrySof Toric IQ Post-Market Clinical Study

Patients will be examined pre-operatively to up to 3 years post-operatively. One eligible eye will be selected as a target eye for efficacy analysis. If both eyes are eligible, the eye in which the IOL is implanted first will be selected as the target eye.

Topography-Guided Customized PRK Versus Q-value Adjusted PRK in Correction of Myopia With or Without Astigmatism

This study will include patients who will undergo PRK in both eyes, for each patient each eye will be randomly allocated to one of 2 procedures: topography-guided ablation in one eye (group I) and Q-factor customized ablation in the other eye (group II). Alcon/Wavelight Light Laser Technologie (GmbH, Erlangen, Germany) ...

Comparison Between FS- LASIK and FS-SMILE for Correction of Myopia and Myopic Astigmatism

Rationale and Background LASIK (laser in situ keratomileusis) is a surgical procedure designed to correct refractive errors. LASIK involves creating a corneal flap using a microkeratome followed by reshaping the cornea using an excimer laser to remove tissue from the underlying stromal bed and then replacing the corneal flap. LASIK ...

Rotational Stability of V4C Toric Implantable Contact Lenses After On Axis Implantation Measured With OPD Scan 3

The recently introduced toric V4c toric ICL (STAAR Surgical Company, Monrovia, CA, USA) has been designed with a 360-m central hole to allow aqueous humor to flow without the need for an iridotomy. As far as the investigators certain, there have been not well-established prospective studies on the role of ...

Randomized Non-inferiority Trial Comparing SMILE and LASIK

Surgical correction for refractive errors may be performed by a number of procedures. Laser correction involves procedures such as EpiLASIK, LASIK or conductive keratoplasty, while lens based corrections involve the use of phakic intra-ocular lenses. Despite the emergence of other procedures, due to its fast visual rehabilitation and painless postoperative ...

Changes of Visual Function Ocular Surface Structures and Physiology After Long-Termed Contact Lens Wear

Contact lens fitting are important treatments for many ocular diseases as they provide three main therapeutic applications: visual correction, protection of ocular surface, and cosmetic or sport purposes. The ophthalmology department of NTUH has set up contact lens special clinic as one of our comprehensive refractive services. The investigators provided ...

Evaluating and Improving Functional Driving Vision of Patients With Astigmatism: Phase 3

The purpose of this randomized control trial is to compare visual performance and simulated driving performance of adults with astigmatism when wearing 1*DAY ACUVUE® MOIST for ASTIGMATISM (toric), 1*DAY ACUVUE® MOIST (spherical control), and 1*DAY ACUVUE® MOIST (placebo) contact lenses. Adult subjects with nearsightedness and astigmatism will wear three types ...

Assessing the Astigmatism Reducing Effect With Toric IOLs in Eyeswith Low Astigmatism

With increasing demands of patients concerning refractive outcome after cataract surgery, toric intraocular lenses (IOLs) that correct corneal astigmatism have been introduced more widely to cataract surgery. Originally, toric IOLs were used mainly for patients with high degrees of astigmatism. Since a couple of years, toric IOLs are available from ...

Toric Contact Lens Performance Study

This is a prospective, single site, randomized, masked, crossover study. This study will evaluate the ability of toric contact lenses to decrease signs and symptoms of asthenopia and improve digital reading performance. Symptoms and objective near vision outcomes will be measured at baseline and after 1 week of wear with ...
