Mild Cognitive Impairment

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a term used to describe a decline in cognitive abilities that is greater than expected for a person's age and education level but does not interfere with daily functioning. Individuals with MCI may experience memory loss, difficulty with language or decision-making, and decreased attention span. While MCI can increase the risk of developing dementia, not all individuals with MCI will progress to dementia.
