Brief description of study

RATIONALE: Identifying new families with members affected by chordoma may help the study of chordoma in the future. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is identifying new families with multiple members affected by chordoma.

Detailed Study Description

OBJECTIVES: - To determine the feasibility of conducting a larger study encompassing the remaining English-speaking patients at Massachusetts General Hospital with chordoma. - To identify new families with multiple members affected by chordoma to participate in clinical and gene mapping studies. OUTLINE: Patients complete a questionnaire about demographics (education, marital status, ethnicity, religion, and household income) and family medical history. Buccal cell samples are collected from patients who are 6 years of age and over. DNA from buccal cell samples and previously collected tumor tissue samples will be used for molecular studies. Information about the patient's past medical history is collected from the patient's medical record.
