Summary

This study looks at what predicts depression in adolescents. 

Description

We follow teens over three years with two visits at baseline, two follow-up visits at 12 months, and one final visit at 24 months. The visits consist of a clinical interview (either in-person or remote) and an MRI scan and blood draw at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Compensation up to $400 provided for completing both the clinical and scan visits.

Inclusion Criteria

Psychotropic-medication free for at least a month
Replace these with real ones (use bullets)

Exclusion Criteria

Active suicidal ideations
MRI contraindications (e.g. pregnancy, metal-ink tattoos, piercings, etc.)
Positive urine toxicology test except for cannabis
Immune-affecting medications or herbal supplements taken (e.g. steroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, omega-3 fatty acids)
Neurological and medical illness (e.g. epilepsy, nerve conduction disorders, and all inflammatory conditions)
Psychotropic medication use within 1 month
Current psychotic symptoms
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
