Description

If you decide to participate in this online research study, you will be asked to complete an online entrance survey, an online interactive module, and an online exit survey. Once you have signed for informed consent at the end of the online cover letter you are able to begin the research study. The online entrance survey will ask you for your demographics; questions regarding current dementia care practices; type of BPSD exhibited by the person with dementia; consequences of dementia care; level of confidence and comfortability delivering dementia care; caregiver burden; and the DBD scale. After you complete the online entrance survey, you will receive an email from the researcher that provides an attachment to a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation for the online interactive module. This module will keep you engaged with audio stimulation from the researcher and visual stimulation that illustrates the researcher’s explanation on each PowerPoint slide. There are a total of 24 PowerPoint slides that covers an overview of dementia, signs and symptoms of dementia, stages of dementia, BPSD, evidence-based treatments, and caregiver support. Two weeks after you complete the online interactive module, the researcher will email you a web link to complete the online exit survey. The exit survey will ask you the same questions that are in the entrance survey in addition to, the changes (if any) to dementia care practices (the type of nonpharmacological intervention(s) implemented by the dementia caregiver) and your top three takeaways from completing the interactive module.
