We are exploring the experiences of caring for people living with Alzheimer’s disease during COVID-19 via an online survey. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and includes questions about how you have felt during the pandemic and your experiences of accessing support, including how this has been impacted by the pandemic.
The survey is taking place in four countries – UK, United States, Brazil and South Africa. This research is being carried out by researchers at the University of Westminster (based in London, UK), in partnership with Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) and Roche. Roche has provided funding and, alongside ADI, has contributed to the development and design of the study.
This research aims to provide insights across several countries into the experiences of caring for people living with Alzheimer’s disease. This information will help organizations such as ADI to improve support for carers.

When you click on the link for the study you will be taken to a full information sheet. Once you have read the information sheet and given your consent to take part, you will complete a short survey providing some details about yourself and the person you care for.
You will also be asked about how you have been feeling recently and how satisfied you feel with the support you receive to help you with caring. Finally you will be asked how COVID-19 has impacted on your caring experiences, including accessing support.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to fill out. As part of the study we are also interviewing a small selection of people via online video link in more depth about their experience. If you would be interested in being interviewed please provide a contact e-mail when prompted to do so in the survey. Once you have completed the survey you won’t usually be able to withdraw your answers. However, if you have agreed to be invited for a follow up interview and provided an email address, and then wish to withdraw from the survey, please get in touch with the research team.
