Summary

In this online study, family caregivers of people with dementia will be asked to complete a demographic survey, a survey about how they determine if the person with dementia is in pain, and 6 tools that help us learn more about the person with dementia and the family caregiver. Participation in this research study is voluntary. Participants who complete the study will be offered a $25 electronic gift card.

Description

Family caregivers of people living with dementia who meet criteria to be included in the study will complete a set of online surveys. The first survey provides some demographic information about the family caregiver and the person living with dementia. The family caregiver will then complete the Dementia Family Caregiver Pain Assessment Survey. After that, 6 tools will be completed that help us understand more about the family caregiver and the person living with dementia. These tools are: Quick Dementia Rating System, Short Form of the Informant Questionnaire on Cognitive Decline in the Elderly, Cohen Mansfield Agitation Inventory, Revised Scale for Caregiving Self Efficacy, Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, and the Health Literacy Skills Instrument Short Form. At the completion of the study activities, participants will be able to fill out a form that provides us information to offer them a $25 electronic gift card.
