Summary

Fox Insight is an online study gathering health information from tens of thousands of people with and without Parkinson’s disease.  Study participation does not require any travel and all you need is an internet connection to start today at www.foxinsight.org

Fox Insight volunteers are invited to take part in virtual ‘study visits’ every three months.  These study visits consist of questionnaires and surveys on health-related topics.  Just like your first visit to a new doctor, the first study visit takes longer than the rest, but most can be completed in ~20-30 minutes.

In addition to completing the regular surveys and questionnaires, people with Parkinson’s living in the US who complete their first study visit can become eligible to receive access to the 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service at no cost.  This includes free genetic counseling available through Indiana University to help you understand your genetic test results.  Through this opportunity researchers can better understand Parkinson’s and potentially speed scientific breakthroughs.
We also ask participants to share their perspectives on additional topics from time to time that can have a big impact for the research community.  Some ongoing and past survey topics include (1) the usage and effects of cannabis in Parkinson’s disease (2) the economic burden on people with Parkinson’s and their care partners and families, and (3) the use of mindfulness and meditation and its effects on Parkinson’s symptoms
