Summary

C-TIPS (Customized Toolkit of Information and Practical Solutions) in a online, multimedia, interactive skill-building program for family caregivers. We are testing the efficacy of C-TIPS in a study funded by the George Washington University, Washington DC. The purpose of the study is to test the effectiveness of C-TIPS to build caregiving skills for managing dementia symptoms.

We will evaluate whether the use of C-TIPS benefits caregivers, resulting in a reduced burden, greater satisfaction, and increased confidence and skills for dementia care. By doing this study, we hope to learn how to help caregivers take care of their family members with dementia in ways that are easier and more effective.

Total participation in this research is free of charge and will last about 7 hours over a 4-month time frame

Description

Study activities include participating in 5 self-paced online modules to build skills for dementia care management in the home. The modules consist of narrated slides of home modifications, short videos of care management techniques, and questionnaires. No cost is associated with participating in the study.
