Summary

The goal of this study is to determine how levels of iron in the brain can affect proteins associated with Alzheimer’s disease, including amyloid.

Description

Participants will undergo 3 procedures, which may be done on the same day or separate days. These will include screening and cognitive testing (up to 2-3 hours, can be done remotely via Zoom), a 1-1.5 hour MRI scan (this will involve no radiation and no injection), and a blood draw. The 4th procedure, a lumbar puncture, will be optional; this entails putting a small needle in the lower back, below the level of the spinal cord, to take a small amount of spinal fluid.
