Summary

This study is looking for couples who live in or near Ann Arbor, MI, and can participate together. One partner must be 65 or older and have mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia. The study is interested in the relationship between everyday challenges and stress.

Description

Study schedule: -You will have a face-to-face interview at your home or another convenient location. It will take 60-90 minutes. -For each of the next seven days, you will complete surveys by telephone. Each survey will take 5-15 minutes. -Additionally, you will give a saliva sample four times. A member of the research team will come to collect the samples. -The study will end after this point. Study activities may include: -Having a face-to-face interview. -Completing surveys over the telephone. -Giving saliva samples. Treatment or experiment details: -The daily surveys are about everyday challenges and experiences. -The saliva samples will be used to test for indicators of stress and health. -The study is interested in the relationship between everyday challenges and stress in couples living with dementia. This may be used in the future to develop programs that can improve the well-being of both partners. -There is no treatment being tested in this study. Additional details: -You will receive up to $100 for completing the study activities.
