Summary

This study is interested in the symptoms that are associated with neurological disorders. This study asks: What symptoms develop during aging in people with neurological disorders? This study is looking for: Adults with Alzheimer’s or other neurological disorders who can travel to the study center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The study is also looking for people with normal cognition, as a comparison.

Description

• Take a set of cognitive tests (e.g., a test of memory and thinking).

If you enroll in the UM-MAP study, you will be asked to return to a performance site of the study for an annual clinical research visit. This consists of a neurological research evaluation, memory and thinking tests, and questions about how you are doing on a daily basis. These visits take approximately 4 hours or more.
-The surveys are about changes in health, finances, and the household. The daily diary is about emotions, behaviors, and activities.

Inclusion Criteria

You could be eligible for this study if
You are over the age of 30
You are in good general health
You have a ‘study partner’ – a spouse, relative, or close friend—who would be willing to come with you on study visits and to tell the researchers about any significant changes to your health
You either
Have Alzheimer’s; or
Have another neurological disorder that causes cognitive difficulties; or
Have normal cognition
You may not be eligible for this study if
You do not meet all eligibility criteria, based on pre-study screening questions
