Summary

A study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of cariprazine compared with placebo as an adjunctive treatment to ongoing antidepressant therapy in patients with major depressive disorder who have had an inadequate response to antidepressants alone.

Inclusion Criteria

Must be in a depressed episode for at least 8 weeks and no longer than 18 months
Must have an inadequate response to 1 to 3 antidepressants with one dose increase during the current episode
Must not have attempted suicide in the last year
Must not have participated in a study in the last 6 months
Must not have a history of cataracts or retinal detachment
