Iron Deficiency anemia

Brief description of study

Iron Deficiency anemia

Detailed Study Description

Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is most common in patients with cancer, chronic kidney disease, and gastrointestinal diseases such as inflammatory bowel diseases, menstruating or pregnant women, and patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgeries. IDS can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life, so it is important to seek treatment to replenish your body's iron levels. The Ferwon IDA study will investigate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational medication in managing your iron deficiency anemia. The study will last for about 10-15 weeks and you will have to attend between 6-12 study visits (3 of which are by telephone). There will also be a 4 week run-in period for patients who have no documented oral iron intolerance within the last 9 months.
