Summary

Researching the effectiveness of cariprazine for treatment of depressive episodes in patients with bipolar disorder.

Description

This study is designed to prospectively confirm the efficacy of a fixed-dose regimen of cariprazine 1.5 mg/day or 3 mg/day compared to placebo for treatment of the depressive episode in patients with bipolar I disorder.

Qualified participants receive study-related medical care and study medication or placebo at no cost and may be compensated for time and travel.

Ages Eligible for Study: 18 Years to 65 Years (Adult)
Genders Eligible for Study: Both
Diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder
Currently treated as an outpatient at time of enrollment
Patient must be located within 60 miles of CNS study location
