Summary

The study will examine the effects that Metformin Hydrochloride has on Prostate Specific Antigen levels in men with Prostate Cancer.

Description

Winthrop University Hospital Clinical Trials Center is conducting this clinical research study for men ages 18 and older who have biopsy proven Prostate Cancer.

Metformin therapy for patients diagnosed with Prostate Cancer who have been treated with either radiation therapy or surgery who have indicators of high risk disease, or who have a rising Prostate Specific Antigen after treatment.

Eligible participants will receive study-related medical examinations, research medication and laboratory tests at no cost, while they are participating in this clinical research study.

Inclusion Criteria

To be eligible for this clinical research study you must
Be 18 years old
Be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer
Have been treated with Radiation Therapy or Surgery
Not have evidence of metastatic prostate cancer or a diagnosis of Type I Diabetes
