PPD Launches Decentralized Trial Certification Program for Sites and Investigators
Thermo Fisher’s clinical research wing, PPD, has launched the Decentralized Trial (DCT) Network, an initiative that offers sites and investigators the opportunity to receive certification on conducting and designing DCTs.
In collaboration with the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), PPD has developed a DCT eLearning certification program that serves as one of the main features of the network. The program has two tiers: level one, which teaches foundational knowledge about DCTs, and level two, which goes in-depth on the application of DCTs. Following training, sites and investigators become network members and gain access to a dedicated DCT network manager.
The online educational courses cover the gamut of DCT topics, including definitions, principles, strategies, hurdles and best practices, as well as DCT trial designs, solutions/services and management. The modules also offer sites lessons on training, facilities and staffing.
