Labcorp announced last week that it is greatly expanding production of clinical trial test kits at its Belgian plant, a move that should enable the company to serve a greater number of countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The company, one of the world’s largest laboratory testing firms, has begun expanding the automated specimen collection kit manufacturing line at its facility in Mechelen, Belgium. Upon completion, LabCorp said it should be able to meet test kit orders for more than 70 countries throughout the EMEA region, up from 27 countries last year.

Labcorp also recently moved to ramp up production at its central laboratories in Geneva, Switzerland, Los Angeles and Singapore, in order to better support global trials.
