FDA’s Investigator Training Course Goes Virtual This Year
After canceling its annual in-person investigator training course last year, the FDA is hosting the event this year as a shortened “virtual update” that will touch on innovative trial approaches, gene/CAR-T therapy challenges and COVID-19, among other topics.
The Clinical Investigator Training Course (CITC) will take place online in an abbreviated form and will discuss innovative topics, such as master protocols, decentralized clinical trials, digital health technologies and the use of real-world data and evidence, as well as two half-hour sessions on regulatory hurdles that currently surround gene and CAR-T therapies.
Agency experts will also discuss investigator responsibilities, including their duties while clinical trials were being conducted during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis, among other items.
The course will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST on Dec. 7 and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST on Dec. 8. Registration has already opened for the event.
