eTrials Names Permanent CFO

etrials, a Morrisville, NC-based eClinical company, named Joseph (Jay) Trepanier II permanent secretary and CFO, replacing James Clark, who resigned in May. Trepanier had been serving as interim secretary and CFO since May and had previously been etrials’ corporate controller and vice president of finance. etrials is currently in the midst of a CEO search, following the sudden resignation of Eugene “Chip” Jennings in July. Vice president of technology Chuck Piccirillo serves as interim CEO.

Other recent personnel moves in the clinical trials industry:

Clinical software company Nextrials added two senior positions to its executive staff, replacing former company executives Anthony Costello and Robert Lyons, who left to pursue outside interests, according to the company. Robert Barr is the new chief technology officer, overseeing Nextrials’ flagship clinical trial management software and electronic data capture solution. He is former vice president of software engineering for ClinPhone, an eClinical company recently acquired by Parexel. Michelle Dockhorn is vice president of global sales and marketing, a new position created to direct Nextrials’ new business initiatives and communications strategy. Dockhorn was most recently vice president of global sales and marketing at Focus Bio-Inova and IBT Laboratories.

Quorum Review, an independent institutional review board (IRB), appointed Michael Malafronte director of quality and document administration, responsible for leading Quorum’s continuous quality improvement efforts. Prior to joining Quorum Review IRB, Mr. Malafronte directed quality groups at Nastech Pharmaceuticals, ICOS Corporation, and Abbott Labs.

RadPharm, an imaging CRO, named Kevin Duffy vice president, sales and marketing, global business development. Duffy will direct the strategic oversight of the global sales process and coordinate all corporate marketing initiatives. Prior to joining RadPharm, Duffy served as executive vice president, global business development for Patheon and chief relationship officer at Omnicare Clinical Research.
