DIA Opens Beijing Office
The Drug Information Association (DIA) has expanded its worldwide operations by opening an office in Beijing, China. Headquartered in Horsham, Pa., DIA has regional offices in Switzerland, Japan, and now China.
The Provisional Advisory Council of China (pACC), established by the DIA in May 2008, will provide support and strategic oversight of DIA’s China office.
“An influx of western-trained scientists and increased access to global markets are extending the development opportunities available in China,” said DIA board member and pACC chair Ling Su, Ph.D., in a company release. “DIA’s presence in China will certainly contribute to meeting the enormous needs in training, education and information sharing and exchange in global drug development and access to new medicines.”
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has opened its first overseas office in Beijing, with more staff to post in Shanghai and Guangzhou in 2009.
