Despite a pending acquisition by private equity firm JLL Partners, contract research organization (CRO) PharmaNet continues to expand its service offerings and locations.

The CRO launched a new clinical trial staffing business last week, PharmaNet Resource Solutions, which will provide on-demand staffing, strategic alliances, functional service staffing and quality control services. PharmaNet opened a new office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, last month.

The new staffing division will be led by vice president Susan Seroskie. Prior to joining PharmaNet, Seroskie was senior vice president, managed services at The Clinical Resource Network. She also spent 11 years at Omnicare Clinical Research where she served as vice president, clinical operations, Americas.

"Susan brings great energy and know-how to the organization," said PharmaNet president and CEO Jeffrey P. McMullen, in a company statement. "Our solutions-based staffing business provides another entry point with large pharmaceutical clients by offering them a new alternative with PharmaNet quality built-in."
