AAHRPP Accredits Another 13
The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) accredited another 13 organizations last week, bringing the total number of AAHRPP-accredited organizations to 188.
AAHRPP, a non-profit organization that offers accreditation to organizations that conduct or review research with humans, hopes to accredit the majority of academic health centers by 2010. Earlier this year, Pfizer became the first pharma company to achieve accreditation.
The list of organizations that received full accreditation includes: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, Mass.; G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC, Jackson, Miss.; Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center--Shreveport, Shreveport, La.; Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio; Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, La.; South Texas Veterans Health Care System, San Antonio, Texas; Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System, New Orleans, La.; Syracuse VA Medical Center, Syracuse, N.Y.; The University of Colorado Denver, Denver, Colo.; The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, Texas; The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas; University of California, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, Calif.; and VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System, Denver, Colo.
