United BioSource Corporation (UBC) launched a new office in Lörrach, Germany, further expanding the company’s clinical research and medical affairs capabilities in Europe.

The Lörrach office is located near Basel, Switzerland and is the 10th UBC office to open in Europe, adding to facilities in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ukraine, Spain, Sweden, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

The new office will be led by Hazel Wohlfahrt, executive director of Clinical Services, Europe. Wohlfahrt has coordinated and led large international clinical studies and registries, covering all countries in Europe and is a recognized leader in German speaking countries.

“Our new office brings together clinical research experts in project and site management and monitoring with many decades of combined experience designing and executing successful product development programs,” said Sean Hart, UBC’s general manager for Clinical Services.

The project and site management teams based in Lörrach have experience in a broad range of therapeutic areas. Key capabilities include study planning, study monitoring, biometrics, and execution of phase II–IV clinical studies, registries and observational studies. The project and site management team members are all bi-lingual in German and English and collectively, they have experience in the areas of neurology, oncology, epidemiology, cardiology, hematology and pediatrics.
