ImproveCareNow, a quality improvement and clinical research program for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis in children, named four business leaders to its board of directors. The mission of the board is to provide advice on the operations of ImproveCareNow, guidance on financial matters, fundraising support and recruitment of business and civic leaders.

Steve McPhail of Chapel Hill, N.C., was named chair. He is president and CEO of Expression Analysis, a laboratory in the research and genetic testing field. 

Kirk W. Walters of Shelburne, Vt. and Boston, Mass., is a senior executive VP and is on the board of directors of Santander Holdings. 

Jim M. Margolis of Mill Valley, Calif., is the co-founder and CEO of True2o. Jim’s work involves the reduction of disposable beverage containers. 

Alex D. Funderburg of Charlotte, N.C., is managing director of Bank of America’s equipment leasing division.
