Massachusetts-based Genzyme Genetics employees received word that 169 workers would be laid-off in the IT and reimbursement departments, according to Fierce BiotechIT.

The majority of the job cuts would occur at the Westborough, Mass. facility. Lab Corporation of America, a Burlington, N.C.-based laboratory testing company, bought Genzyme Genetics from Genzyme in 2010 for $925 million.
