Sherer's began working for the Foundation in 2003 to investigate the role of environmental factors in causing Parkinson's. He joined the staff full time as associate director, research programs in 2004. He was promoted to vice president, research programs in 2006, and chief program officer in 2010.
The Foundation also has appointed Deborah W. Brooks as executive vice chairman. She will contribute to strategy development and provide day-to-day oversight of the fundraising, marketing/communications and digital strategy teams.
