Auxilium names Tursi chief medical officer

Auxilium Pharmaceuticals has promoted Dr. James P. Tursi to chief medical officer. Tursi will report to Armando Anido, chief executive officer and president of Auxilium, and sit on the Auxilium Executive Committee in this role.
Tursi joined Auxilium in March of 2009 and has been responsible for the oversight of clinical development, clinical operations, biometrics and medical writing. He led a team of 30 individuals involved in clinical activities across several indications. Prior to joining Auxilium, Turis served as medical director at Procter and Gamble Pharmaceuticals.
