Global CRO Chiltern International has hired widely-published Drs. Marcelo Piccirillo and Carlo Lanza, bringing expertise in gastroenterology, oncology and pediatrics to Chiltern.

Marcelo Piccirillo, M.D., will be senior clinical research physician based out of the Wilmington, N.C., office, with special emphasis in developing the gastroenterology therapeutic area. Piccirillo has 20 years experience in the medical and clinical research industry, including seven years as a general and colorectal surgeon. His extensive clinical research therapeutic experience includes gastroenterology, pulmonary (asthma/COPD), oncology, neurology, diabetes, metabolic disease, drug safety and medical monitoring of clinical trials.

Carlo Lanza, M.D., will be senior clinical research physician based out of the Milan, Italy, office, to support and expand global activities in the oncology, hematology and pediatric therapeutic areas. Lanza has over 20 years of clinical research experience, including more than 10 years in academic medicine and clinical practice. Lanza has served in extensive medical lead roles at large pharma companies and international organizations in oncology, hematology, pediatrics and malaria R&D at a global level.
