Parexel expands global clinical logistics capabilities

February 8, 2012
CenterWatch Staff

Global CRO Parexel International is expanding its global clinical logistics services.

A new ancillary warehouse in the greater Boston area and a significantly enlarged depot in Santiago, Chile, will support the company’s ability to assist clients in more effectively managing their global clinical trial material supply requirements. These facilities expand on Parexel's existing clinical logistics infrastructure throughout North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Asia/Pacific region.

"We are taking a strategic approach to the biopharmaceutical industry's steadily growing clinical logistics needs,” said Kurt Norris, corporate vice president, clinical research services for Parexel. “Through the expertise of our clinical logistics leaders around the world and our advanced global facilities we are focused on streamlining the clinical supply chain, and providing comprehensive services to our clients.”

Parexel clinical logistics experts manage import/export requirements, as well as end-to-end coordination of the clinical trial material supply chain from planning, sourcing, manufacturing, storage and distribution through to site management, return and destruction.

"Clinical trials are becoming more complex and sponsors find it challenging to organize consistent delivery of trial-related supplies to multiple locations around the world,” said Norris. “Expansion of our clinical logistics capabilities in North America and Latin America, in addition to ongoing investments in this area, reflect our commitment to bring greater efficiencies to global trial execution."
