GE Healthcare launches Centricity EDI Services 5.4
April 11, 2012
GE Healthcare IT has launched the newest version of Centricity EDI Services (5.4), a proven eligibility, claim and remittance clearinghouse for hospitals and physician practices.
The 5.4 version seamlessly connects with GE’s revenue cycle management products (Centricity Business, Centricity Practice Solution and Centricity Group Management) and streamlines complex billing workflows by electronically connecting providers to virtually any payer.
“With Centricity EDI Services 5.4, our entire revenue cycle process is much more efficient,” said Nancy Medeiros, software analyst at Sturdy Memorial in Attleboro, Mass., where Centricity EDI Services has been integrated with Centricity Practice Solution since 2007. "We get paid faster and the integration provides a streamlined workflow that is requires less effort to get our work done. We also get visibility into the status of our claims so we can address any issues in our revenue cycle before there is a negative impact on revenue cycle performance."
The new release delivers a host of new features that help healthcare organizations improve revenue cycle efficiency, including support for HIPAA 5010, x12 4010 and 5010 formats; stronger analytics and reporting capabilities to lower claim denials and rejections; integration of payer status messages into the revenue cycle management software to create a streamlined workflow for addressing rejected claims; ability to track claims and analyze rejection and denial trends.
Mike Friguletto, vice president and general manager, GE Healthcare IT, said, “With Centricity EDI Services 5.4, customers now have more powerful analytical tools to help them identify opportunities to improve financial performance. Furthermore, GE’s commitment to helping customers meet important mandates is demonstrated by the fact that 99% of Centricity EDI Services claims are now in the HIPAA 5010 format.”
