Report: INC Research to close clinical unit in W. Virginia
April 26, 2012
INC Research of Raleigh, N.C., confirmed it is closing its clinical study unit in Morgantown, W.V., according to an online report in The State Journal.
"Following a review of strategic priorities, INC Research has decided to refocus our presence in the early phase market to meet a broader range of phase I needs for our customers," the company said in a prepared statement sent to The State Journal in response to an inquiry.
The Morgantown phase I unit, which specializes in providing bioequivalence and bioavailability services to the generic drug market, will close in the third quarter, eliminating about 30 jobs, the statement said.
INC Research bought Kendle International, which operated clinical study sites in Morgantown and in Toronto, Canada, in July 2011.
