AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a global nonprofit HIV/AIDS organization has acquired MOMS Pharmacy, a specialty pharmacy focused exclusively on providing medications and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.

“The completion of this transaction establishes AHF as a true leader in specialized pharmacy services tailored to serving HIV/AIDS clients with an even greater presence throughout the United States,” said Michael Weinstein, president of AHF. “MOMS Pharmacy’s strong national footprint coupled with AHF’s existing comprehensive offerings will bolster our ability to serve the communities in our core markets as well as increase our impact through new operations in key markets on the East and West Coast.”

MOMS Pharmacy, a division of Allion Healthcare, operates 12 pharmacies and MOMS Pharmacy Access Centers in California, Washington, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. MOMS provides a wide range of medications and services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, including comprehensive medication adherence programs and tools, such as the MOMsPak, a personal options program, free personal delivery, a refill reminder program, community support services, nutritional supplements and a variety of educational programs and materials.

“As a recognized leader in nonprofit healthcare for 25 years, AHF is the ideal partner for MOMS Pharmacy as we move into a new chapter of growth and unlock even greater clinical outcomes for individuals living with HIV/AIDS,” said Anthony D. Luna, president of MOMS Pharmacy. “This transaction will enhance our ability to provide advanced, clinically comprehensive and cost-effective care to clients and work collaboratively with healthcare providers to better serve our communities.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction was subject to customary closing conditions and closed on August 20, 2012.
