Icon launches new FSP strategy
Global CRO Icon has launched a new functional resourcing strategy delivered by a dedicated division, DOCS, consolidating functional service provision (FSP) and resourcing services into one division.
DOCS has been a provider of resourcing services to the global biopharmaceutical and medical device industry for over 15 years. To meet the growing demand for FSP solutions, DOCS has developed the FSP Delivery Platform. This combines DOCS’ global resourcing engine with the processes, quality oversight, systems and training and governance structures to drive productivity through flexible FSP models. The DOCS FSP Delivery Platform also leverages Icon’s therapeutic, geographic and functional expertise to ensure greater efficiencies across customer programs.
“Functional resourcing and FSP continue to grow in popularity as sponsors look for innovative outsourcing strategies that enable them to gain efficiencies and accelerate the development of their pipelines,” said Colin Stanley, president, DOCS. “DOCS’ core competency is providing highly talented teams with skills and experience that are aligned with the needs of our clients and which seamlessly integrate with their business. Our new FSP Delivery Platform builds on this competency and also allows clients to benefit from the breadth and depth of capabilities and expertise from the wider Icon organization.”
The DOCS FSP business will be led by Barry Balfe, vice president of global program management, who has 12 years of clinical research experience and has held leadership positions in both operations and business development for DOCS.
DOCS specializes in functional service provision, contract placement, permanent placement and executive search, and has a global resourcing network and operational infrastructure across 82 locations in 40 countries.
