PPD earns award for innovation in training and development
Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), a global CRO, has been named by Skillsoft as a winner of the 2013 Skillsoft Perspectives Innovation Award for Empowering Learning Cultures in the Enterprise.
Judged by an independent panel of industry experts, the Skillsoft award honors the organization that best demonstrates the ability to make learning part of the fabric of its operations, empowering employees to take charge of their professional growth and development, promoting knowledge sharing and measuring results.
“PPD is focused on continually improving performance to create efficiencies in cost, time and quality for our clients’ research programs,” said Ed Murray, senior vice president, human resources for PPD. “We are at the forefront of e-learning, virtual learning and other leading development platforms and curricula that drive employee engagement and performance improvement by enabling employees to advance their skills and expertise. With nearly 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical services industry, PPD understands that high-performing employees help drive success for our clients.”
To meet and surpass biopharmaceutical clients’ needs in developing new, life-changing therapies, PPD has implemented multiple learning and development programs. At the foundation of PPD’s employee learning focus is a strategic collaboration between the human resources team and the technology, innovation and performance (TIP) group, which blends novel concepts of learning and development with an array of resources used globally to enhance employees’ expertise.
PPD accepted the award at the 2013 Global Skillsoft Perspectives user conference in Orlando. The recognition follows PPD’s honorable mention as Program of the Year by Skillsoft in 2012.
